Ukrainian government reshuffle: Key ministers step down amid turmoil
Dmytro Kuleba is no longer the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The parliament accepted his resignation, a deputy announced.
The parliamentarian stated that 240 deputies voted for Kuleba's dismissal, one was against it, and 45 abstained from voting.
On Wednesday, Dmytro Kuleba submitted his resignation to the Ukrainian parliament, the Verkhovna Rada. The chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, said his resignation will be considered at one of the upcoming sessions.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister recently attended the Campus Poland of the Future event in Olsztyn. His statement on Polish-Ukrainian history echoed widely, in which he suggested that it is better not to "dig" into it today and instead focus on building a common future.
Wave of resignations in the Ukrainian government
Dmytro Kuleba's resignation is not the only change in the Ukrainian government. Recently, Oleksandr Kamyshyn, the Minister for Strategic Industries responsible for the defence industry, also resigned.
On Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Iryna Vereshchuk was also dismissed. 255 deputies voted for her dismissal. Sources suggest that she will move to the role of Deputy Head of the President’s Office, and her previous position will not be immediately filled as the structure will be reformed.
The deputy from Zelensky's party, David Arachamia, announced a "big government reset." According to the politician, appointments to the vacant positions will take place on Thursday.
