Ukrainian forces repel North Korean assault in Kursk battle
The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) have killed 21 North Korean soldiers who launched an attack on Ukrainian positions in the Kursk region of Russia. "It lasted for more than eight hours," reported the SSO.

Intense clashes in the Kursk region
Operators from the 8th regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, supported by allied infantry, repelled attacks by North Korean soldiers for over eight hours. Firearms and grenade launchers were deployed in the confrontation, with snipers also in operation. During the ninth hour of battle, due to a shortage of ammunition, a decision was taken to withdraw the sub-unit from the battlefield, retreating in two Humvee vehicles, according to Ukrainian sources.
According to South Korean authorities, Kim Jong Un has dispatched more than 10,000 soldiers to aid Russia in the war against Ukraine. In exchange, North Korea is receiving technological assistance related to military programmes. This information was confirmed on 6th January by the former U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken during a visit to Seoul.
Antony Blinken reported that at least a thousand North Korean soldiers have been killed or wounded while fighting on Russia's side in the conflict.
The situation on the front remains dynamic, with hostilities continuing. The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces persist in their operations, aiming to repel attacks and minimise losses.
