Ukraine's border guards dismantle key Russian artillery units
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine released a recording showing successful attacks on advancing Russian equipment. In coordination with units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they eliminated significant invader forces "in one of the most intense sections of the front" in a short period.
The recording showed the destruction of ten different Russian vehicles. These included two tanks, three howitzers, a BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher, a self-propelled artillery unit, two armoured vehicles, and a supply truck.
Ukrainian Border Guard eliminates Russian equipment
"In the Pokrovske direction, the Border Guard maintains defence and destroys the enemy in one of the hottest areas of the front," was stated in a brief communiqué.
The material confirms that drones play a crucial role in the actions of the Ukrainian Border Guard. They have become a symbol of the ongoing war, as they are used extensively by both sides of the conflict.
It's not just about the small FPV drones operating as kamikaze weapons but also slightly larger unmanned aerial vehicles capable of dropping grenade or mine charges on attacked targets from the air. For example, "Baba Yaga" drones, which can carry about 20 kilograms of cargo.
The deteriorating state of Russian artillery
Those related to artillery systems are particularly noteworthy among the visible Russian losses. According to Ukrainian military officials and many analysts, recent Russian movements confirm that their problems with this type of equipment are growing. The destroyed equipment is increasingly difficult to replace with additional units from storage, leading to reinforcements from North Korea in the form of M1978 Koksan self-propelled guns with a calibre of 170 mm and rocket launchers with a calibre of 122 mm "disguised" as civilian trucks.
Interestingly, the latter are based on the Soviet BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher, whose destruction the Ukrainian Border Guard recently boasted about. The rockets most commonly used in them have a range of up to 19 kilometres.
