The Associated Press declared Trump the winner of the South Carolina primaries. This announcement came shortly after the polling stations closed, reinforcing his substantial lead over Nikki Haley. After half of the votes were counted, the former president had a commanding lead of 19.9 percent over Haley, who is a former governor of this state and the US ambassador to the UN.

"This victory is even larger than we anticipated," Donald Trump commented on his win, as quoted by rmf24.pl

Analysts suggest that Nikki Haley's defeat, particularly in her home state, severely diminishes her chances. Nevertheless, she has no plans to withdraw her candidacy. She insists on continuing her campaign, firmly believing that it gives Americans the choice they need.

"My sole objective in running for office is to provide a choice for the majority of Americans who express they don't want either Donald Trump or Joe Biden. As long as the majority are saying 'please, give us an option', I will soldier on," vows Haley.

Trump storms ahead, predicting "judgement day"

The primaries have so far taken place in five states, votes being cast in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, Virgin Islands, and South Carolina. Trump holds a dominating lead. Currently, his chances of securing the nomination appear strongest. The decisive 'Super Tuesday', when primaries will be held in 16 states, looms large. Trump is the favourite to clinch the most votes.

Even before the South Carolina primaries, Trump was in Washington, delivering an address at the Washington Conservative Political Action Conference. The former president highlighted the significance of the upcoming elections, referring to them as both a "day of liberation" and a "judgement day".

"November 5th will be the new day of liberation for hardworking Americans, but for the dishonest and fraudulent individuals, counterfeiters, censors, and charlatans currently in government, it will be a day of judgement," Donald Trump pledges.
