The President of the USA hosted the final dinner for foreign correspondents accredited at the White House. In his speech, he highlighted his advanced age - Joe Biden is already 81 years old.
"Of course age is an issue. I’m a grown man, and I’m running against a 6-year-old," Biden quipped, taking a dig at Donald Trump.
The President of the USA also commented on the conflict between Trump and his former Vice President, Mike Pence. "Age is the only thing we have in common. My vice president actually endorses me," said Biden.
In the latter part of his speech, Biden suggested that a potential victory for Trump in the autumn presidential elections would be "an attack on American democracy". The President of the USA also touched on other issues, for instance, he mentioned that he is working towards the release of "Wall Street Journal" journalist Evan Gershkovich, who is being held in Russia.
The presidential elections in the United States are scheduled for November 5, 2024.
