For many, cleaning the oven is a burdensome chore. Dried fat and burnt food residues require effective agents. Fortunately, there's no need to immediately resort to expensive chemical products. There are many home remedies that are just as effective and safe for our health.

The magic of salt in oven cleaning

Cleaning the oven with table salt is a solution that is gaining more and more followers. Salt is a natural agent that not only removes fat but also acts as an antibacterial. You should pour the condiment into an ovenproof dish and cover it with water, then place it in the oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius. The steaming liquid will clean the interior, and after 30 minutes, residues can be easily removed with a damp cloth.

The second method using salt involves sprinkling it on the bottom of the oven so as to cover all the stained areas. This part of the appliance should first be gently moistened with water. Heat the oven to 50 degrees Celsius and wait until the salt slightly turns brown. The condiment will absorb moisture and dissolve the grime. Finally, simply wipe the interior with a damp cloth.

These types of methods are environmentally friendly, as well as economical. Salt is widely available and inexpensive. These are great solutions for people who care about the household budget while also valuing effective performance.

A reliable duo - baking soda and vinegar

Another popular method you can try in your oven is using a paste whose main ingredient is baking soda. You just need to combine baking soda with a little water to create a thick paste. Then rub the paste onto the walls of the oven and leave it for an hour. The next step is to wash the surface with a sponge soaked in water with vinegar. The grease should come off effortlessly.

Using steam and citrus

Another method worth trying is using steam inside the oven. Adding a few drops of lemon, lime, or orange juice to the water enhances the power of the steam, effectively dissolving grime. This process can be carried out by placing a dish with water in the oven preheated to 230 degrees Celsius and leaving it for about 30-60 minutes.

After turning off the oven and letting the interior cool down, residual dirt can be easily removed with a wet sponge. Thanks to the use of fruits, the room will be filled with a pleasant scent.
