Tragedy at Kyrgyz festival. A car crash injures 30 children
On 2nd May in Suzak District, Kyrgyzstan, a tragedy involving children occurred. During a local celebration, the "Manas" festival, a car that had been left on a hill rolled down. The vehicle entered straight into a crowd of students.

According to the local police findings, the driver parked a Hyundai Porter truck type and exited the vehicle without applying the parking brake. The car rolled down from the hill it was parked on, running over the children. According to the Ministry of Health's press service, the injured children are between 9 and 16 years old.
In total, 30 children were injured. Eighteen students were admitted to the hospital, including five with severe fractures who were taken to the intensive care unit of the regional hospital in Jalal-Abad. Their condition is described as critical. The rest received medical help on an outpatient basis.
An investigation is currently underway. Citizens who witnessed the event have been interviewed, and the appropriate investigative actions are being conducted.
The police added that a case has been initiated concerning the incident violation of safety rules in the movement and operation of mechanical vehicles. The "Porter" driver has been detained and placed in temporary custody.
Presidential support for the victims
From the president's fund, a sum of £3,500 (approximately 200 thousand sons) was allocated to the families of the five children who suffered the most severe injuries during the festival and are in intensive care. The rest of the injured received approximately £800 (50 thousand soms).
