"Titanic" is undoubtedly one of the most popular films in the world. Over the course of more than 26 years since its release, it has launched many acting careers, both big and small. Reece Thompson's story is a notable example, as he recently shared how much he earns from the production.

Some films can undoubtedly be considered cult classics. These include productions like "The Godfather," "The Matrix," and "Titanic." Despite many years since their premieres, they still enjoy immense popularity, as evidenced by the successive generations that eagerly watch them.

It's no wonder that for many actors who starred in these films, it was one of the most significant breakthroughs in their careers. However, mere popularity is not everything. The films mentioned above are also among the most profitable movies in history, which means the actors continue to earn money from them.

This is the case for Reece Thompson, who appeared in "Titanic" at the age of five. Although his role in the production was minor, and many may not even remember it, the 31-year-old actor recently revealed that he still receives royalties because of his role in the Oscar-winning hit.

He acted in Titanic and after 26 years still makes money from it

'It's weird because it's not present in my mind anymore. It's not like, "Oh, when am I going to get a new Titanic check?" When it happens, it's like, "Oh, cool, an extra $100 (£80)." There have been a couple of times where it's been like: "Oh, wow, that's a $250 check (£200)." [...] But hopefully, they keep playing it a lot, because that means more money for me — he said in 2018 during an interview with Business Insider, Reece Thompson.

The actor, more than 26 years after the film's premiere, still earns good money despite spending only a few seconds on screen. Interestingly, his mother convinced him to take the role in "Titanic," telling him that "even if the movie is terrible, we'll watch it." Meanwhile, "Titanic" became one of the best and most profitable films in the world, ensuring Thompson a steady flow of cash.
