Global warming is a serious problem that should not be ignored. For several years now, record-high temperatures have prevailed on Earth, and there's no sign of this changing.

How can you help yourself survive the heat? Not everyone can afford air conditioning. A popular TikTok user, @phantilaphat, has shared ways to lower the temperature in your home.

How to lower the temperature in your home?

An air conditioner is a device that helps maintain a constant temperature in a room. Just grab the remote, and a pleasant coolness will fill your home. Unfortunately, it's quite an expense, as an average air conditioner costs from £140 to even £800. Worse yet, it consumes a lot of electricity, which generates massive costs considering today's energy prices.

The TikToker known as @phantilaphat demonstrated that you don't need to spend a fortune to lower the temperature in your home. She advised investing in light-absorbing blinds or shades. You can buy them in most home furnishing stores. A set costs from £14 to £30. If you can, place them in every room in your house. The curtains will block the sun's rays, so your home won't have a chance to heat up.

Place by the fan. The room will immediately get cooler

An air conditioner is a considerable expense, but fans are much cheaper. These devices cost from £20 to £100, depending on their functions and size. The TikTok showed a method using a fan that immediately lowers the room's temperature. Simply place a chilled bottle before it or hang a frozen towel. Once the fan is turned on, a pleasant coolness will fill the room.

Finally, she shared one last trick that's worth trying before going to bed. Open the windows wide once the sun has set and the temperature outside is significantly lower. Place a fan by them and then turn it on. This simple way will ventilate and cool the room, making it much easier to fall asleep.
