Elegant, colourful, fragrant—roses are the most beautiful flowers. They have inspired painters, writers, poets, artists, and perfumers for years. It's no wonder that so many people decide to plant them in their gardens. Growing roses is not the easiest task. The bushes are exceptionally capricious and prone to diseases.

How to care for roses?

There are as many as 20,000 different varieties of roses worldwide. Each of them differs in colour or density. The bushes reach from about 90 cm to 180 cm in height. They can be grown in a flower bed, pot, or the ground. It's a capricious plant requiring regular watering, fertilization, and pruning.

To take care of roses so that the bushes are covered with flowers, you must provide them with the right conditions for growth. Rose bushes feel best in a sunny, sheltered from the wind spot. The soil should be fertile and clayey, with a neutral or slightly acidic pH.

Roses require regular watering. In the spring-summer season, this should be done once a week, using a large amount of water poured directly into the roots. Avoid spraying or watering the leaves, as the bush is susceptible to fungal diseases.

Add to the water and water the roses. Pests won't even come close

Rose care is not complicated. However, fungal diseases and pests can destroy all the work. How do we protect the plant from them? You only need one thing—vodka. It might sound strange, but it has been used in gardening for a long time.

Alcohol disinfects the soil and repels pests that feed on the leaves. It also speeds up and extends the blooming period of roses.

How to use vodka in the garden:

You need two cups of pure vodka and about 10 liters of water. The fertilizer prepared in this way is ready to use. Pour about 3 liters of the solution directly onto the roots. Repeat the procedure every two weeks throughout the entire blooming period.

Want to get rid of pests? Replace the conditioner with a spray of water, vodka, and grey soap. Grate 40 grams of grey soap and dissolve it in about 1 liter of water. Add 100 grams of vodka, and spritz the infected leaves with this prepared spray. Do it early or late in the evening so the sun's rays do not scorch them.
