Taylor Swift's Grammy snub to Celine Dion: A blunder in the spotlight

The 66th Grammy Awards have now taken place. These constitute the most significant music awards granted in America. The overall winner of the evening was Taylor Swift, who also set a record as she received the Grammy for Album of the Year for the fourth time in her career.

Celine Dion, who took the stage, announced the winner of this category. The star made her first public appearance in many months on account of her health issues.

Dion has been struggling with Stiff Person Syndrome, a condition characterized by progressive muscle stiffness. Painful recurring episodes of muscle spasms are also a challenging aspect of this syndrome.

The audience applauded Dion admirably, giving her a standing ovation. However, when Swift took the stage, she committed a major error.

In the video which is available online, we can see the artist embracing those who were around Dion. All the while, she continued to look at them as she received the award, not making any eye contact with Dion.

Although the artists posed for a picture together backstage, which should quell any speculation of any animosity between them, internet users did not go easy on Swift. Their comments included phrases like "It's time to cancel her", "The evening's disappointment", "That was super embarrassing on Taylor's part", "Celine didn't deserve this", and "Zero class and tact".

Swift is currently the most famous artist in the United States. Thus, every move she makes gets widely discussed online. However, her insensitive conduct towards Dion could leave a significant dent in her public image, one that many already believe to be inflated.
