The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan has delivered a note to the Russian Ambassador in Dushanbe, Semyon Grigoriev, as reported by an official from the press department of the Republic's MFA.
The Russian Ambassador in Dushanbe was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, where he received a note regarding the violation of the rights of Tajik citizens in the Russian Federation, said an official in a conversation with the media.
Russia has not accepted these accusations, referring to them as "alleged".
Fear among migrants and ethnic minorities in Russia
Since the attack on the Crocus Center near Moscow, Russian police have been conducting sweeps on the streets and raids on dormitories for foreign students, along with places inhabited by foreigners and minorities.
As reported by "Politico", since the end of March, law enforcement agencies have been carrying out a wide-ranging operation that includes extensive revisions and detentions. A total of 466 individuals have been charged. The charges mostly involve violations of immigration laws and illegal employment. Hundreds are awaiting extradition from Russia.
In response to these actions by Moscow, the authorities of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan - countries from which a large community of Russian migrants originates - have issued statements advising their citizens not to participate in any mass events in Russia and to exercise caution.
