Stabbing in Haifa: Investigation into suspected terror attack
In Haifa, in the north of Israel, a stabbing occurred near the main station. One person has died, and four others were injured. The police suspect it was a terrorist attack.
The chief of police, Daniel Lewi, stated, "Officers are working to determine the attacker's identity and checking whether there are any more attackers in the area."
The attack resulted in the death of a man approximately 70 years old. A 30-year-old woman and man, and a 15-year-old, were seriously injured, while a 70-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries.
Terrorist attack in Israel? Investigation is underway
Initially, Israeli media reported on two attackers, one allegedly stabbing passersby with a knife and the other shooting at them.
Later, it was determined that this second person was most likely aiming at the attacker. The motives of the perpetrator are currently unknown.
