It was a true phenomenon! The South Korean series hit the Netflix platform in September 2021 and immediately became a global hit. To date, "Squid Game" has been watched over 265 million times, and the total viewing time has reached 2.2 billion hours, making the production the biggest hit in Netflix history. Awards poured in (including the first-ever Emmy for an Asian director, received by Hwang Dong-hyuk), and excellent reviews from both viewers and critics (95% praise on Rotten Tomatoes).

No wonder the world was clamouring for more. The creators announced a return, but there was no news about the work progress for a long time. Only now has it been announced that the second season's premiere will take place on Boxing Day, which is 26 December 2024.

What is "Squid Game" about?

456 people are invited to participate in a mysterious game. They have only one thing in common—financial problems, and the grand prize is very enticing. The game takes place in a closed-off area and consists of several stages. Losing means death.

What about the second season?

The action of the second season takes place three years after the aforementioned events. The main character, who managed to survive, wants to reach the people who invented the cruel game. He uses the prize money for the search. It turns out that to end the game; he will have to participate in it again...

It promises to be a spooky time. The first season of "Squid Game" is available on Netflix.
