Sofia Vergara, the Colombian-born star of the series "Modern Family" and "Griselda," gave a high-profile interview to "El Pais" during the promotion of a Netflix production. "I’m newly divorced from my second husband, who I was with for 10 years. My marriage broke up because my husband was younger. He wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom," said the actress.
Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello got married in 2015 in Palm Beach and divorced last year. On 10 July, Sofia Vergara turned 52, and her ex-husband is four years younger than her. " I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore. I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I'm ready to be a grandmother, not a mother," the actress believes.
"So, if love comes along, he has to come with (his own) children. I'm almost in menopause; it's the natural way of things," Sofia Vergara concluded on the subject.
Joe Manganiello (known from the "Magic Mike" series) did not publicly speak for many months. Finally, he was persuaded to open up in an interview with "Men's Journal": "We did try to have a family for the first year and a half. And we had a huge conversation right out of the gate during the first month we dated. I said, 'If you're done with kids, then I understand. Just tell me, and I'll know what this is, and that's okay.' But that wasn't the case with her. And I swore to her that I would never leave if it didn't work out. And I didn't."
The argument about kids "wasn't inevitably why everything ended. It's because two people grew apart, and sometimes that happens. There's been a lot said in the press about me wanting a family. It's simply not true," Manganiello explained.
