Simple hacks to restore your oven door's original shine
Cleaning the oven door may seem daunting, but with a few simple methods, you can restore its original shine. How can you quickly and effortlessly clean the doors? This technique dissolves dirt in moments.
Anyone who uses an oven knows how grease and food vapours build up on the interior side of the door over time. When dirt cools down and isn't wiped off immediately, it becomes difficult to clean the oven glass. Dirty doors can affect the aesthetics and performance of the appliance.
Moreover, a glass oven door that has been neglected for a long time becomes harder to clean later. Cleaning it then requires considerable effort and takes plenty of time. It's best to clean the oven glass after each use to prevent hard-to-remove stains. However, if we've neglected this task, it's worth using clever methods to make dirt removal easier.
How to clean oven doors? Methods
A basic method, both cheap and effective, is bicarbonate of soda and hot water. Bicarbonate of soda is widely available and excellently dissolves grease. To prepare a homemade cleaning solution, mix about 115 grams of bicarbonate of soda with water to create a thick paste. Then, apply a thick paste layer to the door's surface and leave it for several hours. The next step is to rinse the paste off the door's surface and dry it.
Another equally effective method is to use cola and washing-up liquid. Combining these two ingredients creates a detergent with a high level of phosphoric acid, which helps dissolve even the toughest stains. Mix cola with washing-up liquid in a 1:1 ratio and spread the mixture on the oven door. After about 15 minutes, wipe the remaining dirt off with a damp sponge.
The oven can also be effectively cleaned using a dishwasher tablet. How to do it? You'll need a heat-resistant container, a dishwasher tablet, and water. Place the dishwasher tablet in the container and fill it with water. This creates a strong solution that can effectively handle deposits. Then, place the container inside the oven, heat it to approximately 100°C, and leave it for about half an hour. This allows the steam, containing the detergent's active ingredients, to reach all corners of the appliance effectively. After turning off the oven, let it cool. After the process, open the oven and gently wipe its interior with a soft cloth.
