We know that Cillian Murphy, fresh off his Oscar-winning role in "Oppenheimer," will play the lead role in the production. As he expressed in an official announcement on Netflix's social media:
- It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn't finished with me... It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of "Peaky Blinders." This is one for the fans - Murphy announced.
Unfortunately, the details of the upcoming film's plot are still unknown, and we don't know which actors from the original cast will be returning. It's hard even to speculate what the new movie will be about, as the series finale (without delving into spoilers) left many open paths regarding the future of Tommy Shelby and company.
"Peaky Blinders" - when is the film's premiere?
As mentioned, the scriptwriter of the production is Steven Knight, and the director is Tom Harper, who had the opportunity to create some of the first episodes of the popular BBC series.
Unfortunately, everyone remains silent about the film's "Peaky Blinders" premiere date. Even if the creators begin filming still in June this year, we expect the production to debut on Netflix at the earliest in 2025.
