President Vučić highlighted that the terrorist assault near Moscow is not the sole reason for summoning the Council. "We have several reasons, and this incident is the immediate cause," he conceded.
The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack, although it has yet to furnish any evidence to substantiate its assertion.
- I wish to express my deepest sympathies to the people and leaders of the Russian Federation, with the hope that those responsible for perpetrating such a horrendous act will be brought to justice, either through arrest or elimination," Vučić added in an interview with Prva television.
Serbia to implement preventative measures
Vučić underlined the importance of preventative measures, including bolstering security at stadiums and shopping malls by members of the Serbian security agencies. "It's crucial to pay extra attention to venues where large crowds gather and to exert every effort to safeguard the citizenry," Vučić elucidated.
He expressed concern that the attack could exacerbate the conflict in Ukraine and edge us closer to a worldwide confrontation.
The Friday assault on Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow, resulted in over 100 fatalities, according to Russian authorities.
