Regardless of how skilled we are at cooking eggs, they might crack, affecting their appearance and making them harder to peel. Can we prevent this? Absolutely. Just follow these two principles.

Although cooking eggs seems simple, it isn't always the case. Eggs, the stars of the Easter table, are also frequently added to salads or various spreads. To prevent cracking, follow these two simple rules, which many people still do not apply.

Add a little to the boiling eggs

If you're an egg fan and want to improve your cooking skills, you must know two tricks to prevent your eggs from cracking. First, never drop eggs straight from the refrigerator into boiling water. The eggs will experience thermal shock, causing them to crack quickly. It's best to take them out half an hour before cooking. This way, we can be sure they will cook properly.

Secondly, and equally important, add a tablespoon of table salt or lemon juice when gently placing the eggs into the pot of water. This will help prevent the shells from cracking.

Time is key

Another popular method for perfectly cooked eggs is to place them in cold, not boiling water. Also, remember the appropriate cooking time, which is very important when cooking soft-boiled or hard-boiled eggs.

When we put the eggs in cold water, we should cook them covered for a specific time. Soft-boiled eggs will be ready in three minutes, while hard-boiled eggs require seven to nine minutes of cooking. If we cook them longer, a grey ring will appear around the yolks, which we prefer to avoid.
