Asparagus season has started, and it can be used in many interesting ways in the kitchen. Asparagus works great as part of a tart, filling for chicken, or an interesting warm snack. Today, I'll explain how to quickly prepare an original dish with just a few products.

Green asparagus in a puff pastry pocket

To surprise your loved ones with a tasty and interesting treat, just opt for the fail-safe combination of simple ingredients. In this case, the spring vegetable pairs wonderfully with puff pastry and basic products from the fridge that you surely have at hand.

These include, of course, ham and yellow cheese. Just arrange them with the asparagus on the puff pastry and season to taste with salt and pepper. Finally, fold the protruding edges of the pastry to the centre and place it in a preheated oven. After 20 minutes of baking at 200 degrees Celsius, the snack is ready to serve.

Asparagus is not just a tasty vegetable. Besides the fact that working with it is pure pleasure and it can be the basis for really great recipes, it's worth remembering its health benefits.

You will find vitamins A, C, E, and K, as well as a range of minerals, including iron, phosphorus, calcium, potassium, and magnesium. Asparagus also contains valuable fibre and folic acid, which is especially important for pregnant women. The vegetable described today is also low in calories yet very nutritious and easy to digest. Therefore, you can eat asparagus without any guilt and include it in your daily diet.
