The aircraft, belonging to Scandinavian Airlines, unexpectedly interrupted its flight because a mouse was on board. AFP reported the incident on the route.

The SAS plane's destination airport, which departed on Wednesday from Oslo in Norway to Malaga in Spain, suddenly changed to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. The emergency stop was necessary because a mouse suddenly appeared between the passengers' seats on the plane.

Emergency landing: all because of a stowaway passenger

The agency explains that the rodent got on board as it had previously hidden in one of the passengers' provisions. It stayed hidden in the sandwich during check-in and only emerged when the plane was already in the air.

The mouse packed in the passenger's meal forced the Scandinavian airline crew to decide immediately. AFP relays the words of SAS spokesperson Oystein Schmidt, who explained why such radical measures had to be taken.

The spokesperson explained that the landing was necessary due to safety concerns. Restrictions regarding rodents on board are stringent to avoid damage to electrical cables.

The BBC also mentioned another incident involving rodents, which disrupted transportation. This time, it was about a morning train from Reading to London Gatwick Airport. It had to stop due to two squirrels found on board last week.
