Russian forces threaten encirclement of Ukrainian towns in Donbas

On Thursday, analysts from the DeepState project reported that the Russians had taken the town of Zoria. The situation in the Donetsk region is deteriorating.

Russian advances in Donbas

The Russians have advanced in, among other towns, Uspenivka, Kurakhove, and Soncivka, say analysts, whose words are quoted by Ukrayinska Pravda.

The enemy is attempting to penetrate the defence from all directions. The villages of Trudove, Uspenivka, and Dalnie play a crucial role in halting the assault. It is from these positions that the Russians are concentrating forces for an assault on Uspeniwka, which is at risk of total encirclement.

As emphasised, although Ukrainian soldiers are engaged in intense fighting to maintain their positions, the situation remains difficult due to the enemy's significant numerical superiority. According to warnings, a lack of proper coordination may lead to the risk of encirclement of the Ukrainian Defence Forces in several towns simultaneously.

"The enemy is occupying more and more territory directly in Uspenivka, risking to close the ring and leave the units of the Defence Forces in Hannivka, Uspenivka, Trudove, Veselyi Hai and Romanivka," the analysts emphasise.
