DeepState, a group of military analysts, cited sources within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which reported the execution of Ukrainian soldiers on Thursday on Russian territory.
The analysts explained that the Ukrainian soldiers encountered Russian forces while returning to their positions and surrendered due to a lack of ammunition.
The human rights ombudsman reacts
The Ukrainian Human Rights Ombudsman stated on Telegram that “such actions constitute a blatant violation of the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war,” adding that he has sent letters to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross, informing them of another Russian war crime.
“Russia is a terrorist country that breaks all rules and customs of warfare. The international community should not turn a blind eye to such crimes,” Lubinets implored on social media.
In early October, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported the execution by Russians of 16 Ukrainian prisoners near the villages of Mykolaivka and Sukhy Yar in the Pokrovsk district, within the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine.
