Queen Camilla and King Charles celebrated Wednesday's 80th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy. The royal couple couldn't hide their emotion as they listened to a touching speech by one of the veterans.

The recent months have been incredibly challenging for the British royal family. In the face of the cancer that King Charles III is battling, Buckingham Palace has undergone reorganization. Most of the duties have fallen on Camilla, who is doing everything she can to adjust to the new reality as best as possible.

Last month, the royal couple participated in the Order of the British Empire dedication ceremony, which took place at St. Paul's Cathedral in London. The king and queen, dressed in festive cloaks, seemed to be in good form - they eagerly interacted with people and sent them smiles.

On Wednesday, the couple faced more royal duties. The son of Queen Elizabeth II and his spouse graced with their presence the 80th anniversary of the Allied landing in Normandy, accompanied by the solitary Prince WilliamKate Middleton is still recovering from chemotherapy. The 76-year-old wore a pink ensemble with a simple calf-length dress, a matching coat, and a fancy headpiece. During the speech of one of the veterans who mentioned losing his best friend on the front, the queen couldn't hold back her emotions. The same was true for Charles, who also shed a few tears.
