The proper functioning of our digestive system largely depends on our diet. Scientific studies show that regular consumption of certain products can negatively affect the intestines and stomach and also promote the development of cancer cells. Check which products have a harmful impact on our bodies.

Sugar, sweeteners, and white wheat flour are among the products harmful to the intestines and immune system and promoting inflammation and cancer. These refined carbohydrates are often present in highly processed foods. Consuming white bread, carbonated drinks, or biscuits can disrupt the pancreas, liver, and cardiovascular system.

Another dangerous product that contains carcinogenic compounds is certain types of meat.Consuming 50 grams of processed meat daily increases the risk of colorectal cancer by 18 per cent.

The expert also warns against spicy spices. Research results published in the British journal "BMJ" suggest that spicy additions reduce the risk of premature death, but they can also lead to gastrointestinal problems.

The article in "Neurogastroenterology & Motility" demonstrated that excessive consumption of spicy spices irritates the mucous membranes of the digestive system, increasing the risk of stomach, oesophagus, and oral cancers. People with ulcers, reflux, or inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract should avoid these spices.

Be careful with products rich in sodium as well. It has been proven that excessive salt consumption is destructive to the digestive system and can shorten life by up to two years. Additionally, salt can increase the risk of developing ulcers and stomach cancer. Salt enhances unfavourable cellular changes and strengthens the effects of other carcinogenic factors present in, for example, grilled meat, bacon, ham, or salami.

Cancer is the most common cause of death worldwide. Each year, millions of people lose their lives because of it. We can get sick from tobacco smoke, alcohol, but also improper nutrition. The most common cancer is lung cancer.
