Reinvent your quick dinner with potato pancakes sans grating
What to make for a cheap and quick dinner? One of the better ideas is definitely potato pancakes. They are simple to prepare, the ingredients are usually on hand, and almost everyone likes them. It's also worth trying the recipe for pancakes without grating the potatoes.
Potato pancakes are very popular. Although the recipe is extremely simple and always based on potatoes, slight variations might exist. For example, some people add raw onions to the mix, while others include bacon. They can also be served in many different ways. But that's not the end of the possibilities offered by this simple dish. It's worth preparing the pancakes according to a recipe that guarantees a crispy exterior and a delicate interior. Additionally, grating the potatoes will be unnecessary.
Less greasy and more delicate
Potato pancakes are one of the most popular dishes in Polish cuisine. However, they are known worldwide and are often prepared slightly differently than here. They are often less greasy and use boiled potatoes. The Korean version, gamja-jeon, consists of thin, spicy pancakes with the addition of garlic and chilli, which use minimal fat. In Germany, lebkuchen is made from boiled potatoes and served with sour cottage cheese. Meanwhile, Swiss rosti are greasy, crispy pancakes that spend the night in the fridge to enhance the flavour, becoming a golden crust treat by morning.
