Reality meets fiction: British man mimics 'Terminal' life at Polish airport

While Tom Hanks' character Viktor Navorski stirred compassion right from the start, the protagonist of the British media's narrative attracts annoyance rather than sympathy. The man, now resident in Katowice airport, has become a nuisance to travelers.

A 27-year-old British citizen, whose identity remains undisclosed, has reportedly been reported to the police on several occasions for his rude and aggressive conduct towards other passengers at Katowice airport.

Initially, the man was scheduled to land in Poland from Leeds Bradford airport on January 1 and then board a connecting flight to Abu Dhabi. Unfortunately, this did not occur and he ended up stranded at the airport.

According to "The Sun," the guy would incessantly demand food, although witnesses allege he had sufficient funds to support himself. Remarkably, he also declined to depart from the Pyrzowice terminal.

Remarkably, the man has been detained twice by the police and subjected to a staggering 14 interrogations. Regardless, authorities have confirmed they cannot forcibly repatriate him back to the UK.

"Terminal 2": Brit makes himself at home in a Polish airport

The British newspaper quotes terminal workers who are fed up with the Brit's antics. The guy, who traveled from the UK, has been staying at Katowice airport for three weeks, and his strange, intrusive, and aggressive behavior has not gone unnoticed. Law enforcement are seemingly unable to keep him away for long.

A lady working in a bustling airport shop noted that despite appearances, the man possesses at least one bank card.

Initially, she empathized with him, presuming he was a destitute man who had suffered a mishap. However, she was astounded when she realized how rude he was to other customers. This eventually led to a tense situation, prompting her to call security. She relayed, "I asked him not to be a nuisance, but his response was anger and shouting. I was frightened and had to call the security. After my shift end, I learned from my friends who work in the café that he frequents there too, and surprisingly he pays using his card when they refuse to offer him more free food."

According to another airport employee, the man spends most of his time at the airport, sleeping there occasionally. He tends to wash up in the airport bathroom and spends his entire day inside the terminal. His demanding behavior and sense of entitlement have increasingly irked the airport staff. The employee reports, "Desperate, one of us even tried offering to gift him a ticket home, but he flatly refused."

Kamil Kubica, the spokesperson for the Tarnogórska police, revealed that the man was previously ejected from a local hotel for causing damage to his room. He added, "Due to ongoing legal proceedings, I cannot divulge any other details at the moment."

Piotr Adamczyk, the spokesperson for Katowice International Airport, commented, "The passenger's notably aggressive treatment of other customers and the airport staff has put him in the spotlight. As a result, the Border Guards and police have had to be called multiple times. After each incident, the police detained him for 48 hours. We reached out to the British Embassy in Warsaw regarding the situation and they offered to purchase the passenger a return ticket to the UK. The man, however, uninterestingly declined the offer."
