Is there a fast way to prepare delicious croissants when unexpected guests knock on the door and the fridge is empty? Of course! Here is a recipe for croissants that will surprise you with their taste and simplicity of preparation. Join me in discovering how just three ingredients can create a unique sweetness.
How to make three-ingredient croissants?
Preparing these croissants is a child’s play. Combine flour, cold butter, and sour cream, knead the dough, chill it, form croissants and bake. You can also add your favourite filling, such as Nutella or jam. Remember, however, not to overdo the filling to avoid leaking during baking.
Ingredients:
- 750 grams of flour,
- 300 grams of thick cream,
- 250 grams of cold butter.
Preparation:
- Mix the flour with the cold butter, then add the sour cream. Knead the dough until all the ingredients are well combined and form a smooth mass. Form the dough into a ball.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for about an hour to cool.
- After cooling the dough, divide it into four parts. Roll out each part into a thin sheet and then divide into 12 triangles. Roll each triangle from the wider end, forming croissants. Bake in the oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Additional tips:
- You can replace the cream with homogenised cheese, and butter can be substituted with margarine. However, they will be much tastier with butter.
- It's best to keep the baked croissants in an airtight container in a dry and cool place. This will help them retain their freshness for longer.
- Three-ingredient croissants are the perfect dessert when you don't have the time or desire for complicated baking. They are also a great option for using up leftover dough.
