Fans of Queen experienced a moment of fear as they followed the band’s eminent guitarist Brian May on social media. On Wednesday, 4 September, the 77-year-old shared concerning news about his health. In a short video, he revealed that a few days earlier, he had suffered a health-threatening stroke.

Although the guitarist himself describes it as a “minor health ailment,” many fans were worried about the news. Particularly troubling was the information about the paralysis that affected the guitarist's hand after the stroke, preventing him from playing and creating music. However, he reassures his fans, explaining that his health is slowly returning to normal.

The good news is that it's already okay. I’m just doing what they tell me to do, which is basically nothing. I am grounded. Currently, I can't go out, can't drive [...] I'm also not supposed to increase my heart rate too much, but I'm feeling fine — explains Brian May to his fans on his Instagram.

Queen's guitarist informed that he had a stroke

Brian May emphasizes that the minor consequences of the stroke are thanks to the "fantastic healthcare." He also revealed that the ambulance ride was "extremely emotional" for him, and shared the information about the stroke so late because he didn’t want unnecessary sympathy.

Nevertheless, fans in the comments did not hide their warm words and wishes of health for the legendary guitarist. Unfortunately, this is not the first time he has had to deal with serious health problems.
