Many pieces of information provided by Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.

Putin signed the relevant decree regarding Yakushev on Tuesday. The document does not indicate the reasons for the dismissal, but according to sources cited by RIA Novosti, Yakushev is set to join the authorities of the Tyumen region and the Russian Federation Council. He is a candidate for the deputy head of this chamber.

Yakushev was born in 1968 in Bashkiria. He graduated in law and finance from the State University in Tyumen. From 2001 to 2005, he was the vice-governor of the Tyumen region and then—until 2018—the governor.

He took on the role of Presidential Envoy to the Urals Federal District in November 2020.

The Urals Federal District is one of Russia's eight federal districts. It lies on the eastern side of the Urals, which form the conventional boundary between Europe and Asia.
