Prince Harry and Meghan’s California fire aid goes unnoticed
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have actively supported those who have survived the five-day-old fires. However, despite the Sussexes' charitable efforts at the evacuation centre, the media have only briefly mentioned their philanthropy.
The devastating fires in California are causing increasing destruction. Last night, Greenwich Time, local medical services reported 16 fatalities. The damage also amounts to nearly £123 billion in material losses. Unfortunately, experts agree this is not the end of the alarming calculations.
Many well-known individuals are using their influence to support those who have lost their livelihoods overnight. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's efforts are certainly commendable. They are not only urging financial support and participation in various fundraising activities through social media, but they have also personally engaged in helping those affected.
Harry and Meghan's volunteer work overlooked by one news outlet
Last Friday, the Sussexes arrived at the Pasadena Convention Centre, an evacuation centre. Alongside Jennifer Newsom, the wife of California's governor, they served meals to hundreds of Americans gathered there.
Journalists from the Fox News station arrived on the scene, conducting brief interviews with fire survivors from Los Angeles. Meanwhile, viewers could see shots prominently featuring the governor’s wife handing out food packages. The reporter did not exchange even a word with Harry and Meghan, and they barely appeared on screen at the end of the segment as they embraced evacuees who were grateful to them.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have donated to humanitarian aid through their Archewell Foundation. Additionally, they have opened their nearly £25 million residence in Montecito to their relatives who were forced to leave their homes.
