Preparing coffee in this way can prove to be an excellent support for the body, thanks to a special addition that should be poured into a classic cup of black beverage. Ladies and gentlemen, here is Oleato coffee—a barista hit that has been entangled in the tentacles of a somewhat alarming controversy.

Coffee is healthy. We've been relaying this message for a long time, constantly highlighting the health benefits of the black drink. Even though there's also a downside to the popular beverage — mainly caused by unhealthy, poorly chosen, and completely reputation-damaging additives — we've found a workaround. How? It's very simple. Replace unhealthy additives with those that will enhance the healthy nature of your morning (and not only) coffee.

At a certain point in the coffee craze, reflecting the creative spirit of baristas into a white cappuccino cup, the trend for so-called bulletproof coffee emerged in America. Bulletproof coffee sparked quite a controversy among our local dietitians, and the response to the extremely fatty version of American coffee was precisely Oleato. It sounds healthy, doesn't it? This coffee is reportedly a better alternative to bulletproof coffee. What does its consumption involve?

Adding olive oil to coffee — the heart of the Oleato coffee debate — makes the black drink acquire new, even more impressive health-boosting properties. It improves heart and brain function, positively influences cholesterol levels, and regulates blood pressure. Thanks to the coffee, we replenish our body's supply of a substantial dose of antioxidants, while olive oil provides vitamin E and a large amount of healthy fatty acids.

Oleato coffee is made by adding one teaspoon of olive oil to a cup. Experts recommend consuming 2-3 tablespoons of this healthy fat per day. The creators of Oleato presumably believed that one way to incorporate this valuable food product could be precisely through coffee. And it seems they were not mistaken. But...

Oleato Coffee — better not to drink it in public?

Coffee with Sicilian olive oil debuted in 2023 at Starbucks in Milan. Its creators assured that its presence on the café’s menu would change many people's coffee perspectives, and Oleato would soon become a hit. Did it happen? Well, not exactly. According to reports easily found on the internet, coffee with olive oil exhibited quite intense laxative properties among local consumers. It seems that American Starbucks patrons complained most about this effect. Or perhaps they were contesting this way to protect the good name of their butter coffee.
