Netflix ends support for older iPhones and iPads running iOS 16
Netflix has revised the requirements for its mobile application on iOS, which means older iPhones and iPads will no longer be supported. In practice, streaming content will still be available for now, but users won't receive future updates to the Netflix app and, consequently, new features in the applications.

9to5Google reported information about the change in Netflix's mobile requirements for iOS. According to the report, Netflix app users are being informed about the end of Netflix support for iOS 16. This system's latest version can be installed on the iPhone X, 8, 8 Plus, iPad 5 (2017), and the first-generation iPad Pro. Therefore, users of these devices should be prepared for no further updates to the Netflix app.
All newer devices can be updated to at least iOS 17, so this problem does not occur here—users will still receive future app updates. Netflix's move should not be particularly controversial, considering that many users have phones with at least iOS 17.4 installed.
It is worth noting that users of older iPhones and iPads who can no longer update iOS risk not only a lack of support for specific applications like Netflix. Older software versions are no longer updated for security, exposing users to potential cyberattacks. Perhaps the withdrawal of Netflix updates (and likely, in the future, the complete disabling of the app) for older systems will be an additional reason to consider upgrading to a newer phone.
