Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, tired of the British press and the atmosphere at the court, shared a surprising decision with the world in 2020. They officially resigned from royal duties and, wanting to be cut off from the media, moved across the ocean with their then less-than-one-year-old son Archie.
Shortly after moving, the couple began to pursue their professional plans, aiming to become financially independent. At that time, they founded the Archewell Foundation, whose main mission is to support equality, mental health, and ecology projects. Now, they have travelled to Colombia to engage in further initiatives related to their activities.

In 2022, a documentary series about the life of the former royal couple was released on Netflix, which reached, among others, the Vice President of Colombia, Francia Márquez. Márquez was touched by Meghan Markle's story and invited her for a several-day cultural and social visit, during which they will discuss topics including cyberbullying and discrimination. Additionally, Prince Harry is to meet with members of Team Colombia, who will participate in next year's Invictus Games.
As they announced via social media, the Sussexes have already checked in to Colombia. The couple were photographed in Bogotá, where Francia Márquez herself welcomed them. Meghan Markle chose a navy set with a vest, low shoes, and an ivory-coloured bag for the occasion. Meanwhile, Prince Harry presented himself in a black suit with a light blue shirt.
