He presented his tech gadget review in a video on his Instagram account, where he examined the Apple Vision Pro. Zuckerberg noted that the Quest 3 is a more cost-effective choice (costing £375 compared to a staggering £2,625 for the Vision Pro) and a generally superior product.

Zuckerberg claims Quest 3 is superior to Vision Pro

“I finally tested out Apple's Vision Pro. I anticipated that the Quest would offer greater value to the majority of people, being both high quality and significantly cheaper. However, after using it [the Vision Pro], I think not only does Quest provide better value, but I also believe it is a fundamentally better product," Zuckerberg stated.

Zuckerberg asserts that the Quest 3 outperforms the Vision Pro in most areas where mixed reality is used. He mentioned work, gaming, social meetups, and workouts as examples. Furthermore, he believes the Quest 3 is more comfortable due to its lighter weight (approximately 0.51kg compared to Vision Pro's 0.60-0.65kg).

Zuckerberg critiqued the unavailability of apps like Netflix or YouTube on the Vision Pro, arguing this gives Meta a long-term advantage over Apple. He underscored the broader field of view offered by the Quest 3, plus its brighter and more vibrant screen. Only Vision Pro's higher resolution and gaze tracking were acknowledged as pros - features he revealed will also be in future versions of the Meta Quest.

Early issues with the Apple Vision Pro

The first version of Apple Vision Pro is targeted at a small group of users, mainly due to its high price - up to £2,625. Despite this, early issues have already started to crop up. Police stopped a man driving a Tesla on the motorway after being spotted using a Vision Pro while driving.

A video shared by a driver using the pseudonym 'Dante' shows him driving initially, then parked in a car park. Police car lights can be seen in the background. It's unclear whether he was fined as a result of being stopped. Regardless, the incident has sparked a discussion about safety. Many believe that driving while using such devices should be banned by law.
