Liam Payne's untimely death stuns music world
The music world was shaken by the news of Liam Payne's death. The 31-year-old singer died after a tragic accident at the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Just a few weeks before his death, the artist posted a video on TikTok in which he sang a snippet of the song "18" from One Direction's repertoire during a karaoke session, stirring nostalgia among fans.
In the video, Payne took part in a blind karaoke challenge, attempting to sing well-known hits without looking at the lyrics. During the session, he performed extracts of songs such as "Off The Wall" by Michael Jackson, "Back In Black" by AC/DC, and "Umbrella" by Rihanna. However, the melody of the song "18" evoked the strongest emotions in him.
"I should know these words," he said with a smile, then sang: "I got a heart and I got a soul, believe me, I will use them both."
Liam Payne, despite his struggles in private life, remained musically active. In March of this year, he released his latest solo single "Teardrops". He also recently sang along with fans during a performance by his friend and former One Direction member, Niall Horan, in Buenos Aires. Payne seemed to be in good spirits, as suggested by his recent activities on social media.
Everyday life on social media
In one of the last posts published just before his death, Liam shared moments from his daily life, showing how he spent time with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, and their dog.
"This is the breakfast table. I'm just eating an orange. Just enjoying coffee and breakfast even though it's like 1 PM," joked Payne, talking about how the couple spent a lazy morning.
In the background, you could hear Kate laughing, calling them up for waking up so late.
In one of the later stories, Liam talked about his experiences with playing polo, emphasising how challenging the sport turned out to be. During one of the conversations, he also mentioned that he envies people who can paint, commenting on a painting of a tree at a friend's house where he was staying while in Argentina.
Last moments of life
Unfortunately, Payne's life ended in tragic circumstances. The police were called to the hotel following a report of an "aggressive man who may have been under the effects" of substance abuse. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Liam's body.
Witnesses reported that shortly before his death, the artist destroyed his laptop, and then had to be escorted to his room by hotel staff.
