In the British county of Lancashire, police are investigating a peculiar theft. A trailer loaded with Kinder Bueno bars, valued at £134,000—nearly 200,000 double bars—was hijacked.
Nearly 200,000 Kinder Bueno bars stolen
The heist occurred on March 17th at the Gillibrands Industrial Estate in Skelmersdale. It is believed that at three o'clock in the morning, the thieves arrived in a lorry, hitched the trailer filled with the valuable cargo, and departed for Simonswood in Merseyside. There, the stolen goods were transferred to another vehicle. Officers in Rainford, nearby, later discovered the empty trailer.
Commissioner Holly Bennett of the Lancashire Police stated, "This is a significant commercial theft, and I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious either in the area around the industrial estate or the area where the load has been transferred or the trailer has been abandoned to get in touch."
