Russian local authorities are determined to attract as many voters as possible to the upcoming presidential elections, reports the "Moscow Times". Vladimir Putin's regime is pressuring public sector workers and organizing contests with prizes.

The Kremlin is ensuring the elections starting on Friday will secure Vladimir Putin another term as president. The "Moscow Times" reports that there is pressure on public sector workers and companies connected to state structures to engage in the vote.
The regime is attempting to lure citizens with various attractions. One initiative involves offering free meals. Authorities are also handing out free tickets to concerts and setting up lotteries. Prizes include a pack of sugar, with more appealing rewards such as a car also available.

Long list of rewards

As per the "Moscow Times", in the Altai Territory, election participants can win sanctioned iPhone 15s or Dyson hair styling products by posting a selfie from the polling station online to enter a lottery.
In the Sverdlovsk region, the prizes include 2,000 Chinese smartphones, 45 apartments, 20 motorcycles, and 100 cars manufactured by Moskvich plants.
Many events organized by local authorities are scheduled to start at noon on Sunday, GMT. Concurrently, supporters of the late opposition figure Alexei Navalny have called for a protest action titled "Noon against Putin".
