Russian "military correspondent" Yevgeny Poddubny was injured in the Kursk region and taken to hospital. Earlier, it was reported that the well-known Kremlin propagandist had been killed, but these claims were quickly denied.

The information regarding the alleged death of Yevgeny Poddubny was initially reported by the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, Mikhail Delyagin, as well as several other Russian channels managed by military bloggers on Telegram. However, these reports were promptly refuted.

The All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company announced that Yevgeny Poddubny is hospitalised. It was claimed that the broadcaster's employee was injured due to a Ukrainian drone attack.

"The acting governor of the Kursk region, Alexei Smirnov, wrote on his Telegram channel that the 'military correspondent' has regained consciousness," reported the independent Russian portal Meduza on Wednesday evening.

"According to preliminary information, the 'military correspondent' was recording a report on the fighting in the Sudzha region in the Kursk area during the day," the Russian independent portal The Insider reported.

Yevgeny Poddubny is one of the most prominent Russian "military correspondents". Over 700,000 users follow his Telegram channel. Poddubny is a blogger and a full-time employee of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. "As a war correspondent for the Russia-1 channel, Yevgeny Poddubny earned 974,000 rubles (£8,900) per month in the first half of 2022, while in 2021, his salary was 782,000 rubles (£7,100)," reported The Insider.
