The specific type of cancer wasn't detailed, but it was confirmed that the monarch remains optimistic about his treatment and is hopeful for an early return to his public duties.
In a conversation with the BBC on Tuesday, the British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak confessed that he was "shocked and saddened" upon learning about this diagnosis.
All our thoughts are with him and his family during this time. Fortunately, it was detected early," said Sunak, and he hoped the monarch would swiftly regain his health.
Sunak assured that the country's operations would proceed as usual and emphasised his "regular communication with the king". As King Charles III will continue to reside at Buckingham Palace, the weekly audiences in which the monarch receives the prime minister will proceed in person.
According to a Monday statement, the 75-year-old monarch may need to delay or rearrange forthcoming public engagements due to his diagnosis.
Meanwhile, the newspaper "The Sun" reported that Charles III's younger son, Harry, who permanently resides with his family in California, plans to fly to the UK on Tuesday. Previous reports speculated that he would fly to visit his ailing father in the next few days following Monday's news about his father's health condition.
