A few months ago, Kate Middleton withdrew from royal duties due to a planned abdominal surgery. After a wave of speculation, it was revealed that the Duchess is battling cancer and remains under medical care. Since then, she has only appeared publicly once, at the Trooping the Colour parade in mid-June.
Will Kate Middleton appear at the Wimbledon final? Here is the statement
Although Kate has not officially returned to her royal duties, many wonder if and when she will appear publicly again. At the end of June, a royal expert claimed that another exception to her break from public functions might happen soon, possibly during the Wimbledon final. Since 2016, Middleton has patronised the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and is a huge tennis fan.
Her treatment is ongoing and will continue for several more months, but I understand that if she feels up to it, she would like to attend the Wimbledon tennis tournament - she is a patron - quoted Emily Andrews in "Grazia".
It looks like she was indeed right. The men's Wimbledon final will occur on Sunday, 14 July, between Serbian Novak Djokovic and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz. Kensington Palace has officially announced that Kate will participate in the event and present the trophy to the winner.
