Cleaning the sofa does not have to be time-consuming or expensive. All you need is a homemade upholstery cleaner, which you can prepare with just three ingredients available in every kitchen.

To prepare a homemade sofa cleaner, you need:

• 2 teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda,
• Juice squeezed from one lemon,
• 2 litres of lukewarm water.

Bicarbonate of soda has stain-removing and odour-neutralising properties, while lemon juice has antibacterial and refreshing effects. Combined with water, they create an effective cleaning agent that can handle most dirt.

In a bowl, mix water, bicarbonate of soda, and lemon juice until all ingredients are dissolved. Then, dip a soft cloth in the prepared solution and wring it out well so that it is slightly damp but not wet.

Wipe the upholstery with the cloth, focusing on stains and dirt. Use circular motions to gently remove dirt from the fabric without disturbing its structure.

After cleaning the sofa, let it dry. If you want a quicker effect, you can use a fan or open a window to speed up the entire process.
