Snails are causing genuine havoc in our gardens. Their colonies, which settle on our plots, can quickly destroy vegetable gardens and beautiful flowers. However, a specific method can help us swiftly eliminate these pests.

Every gardener becomes sad at their sight. Snails mean significant trouble. They quickly "get to work" on the plants we have painstakingly cared for, leaving behind massive destruction.

How can we deal with these unwanted guests once and for all? An experienced gardener's mixture is reputed to help us swiftly eliminate snails from our plots.

Snail invasion in the garden? We have a solution

Anyone who has tried to solve the problem knows that it's not easy. Each season, the issue returns, and the battle with snails begins anew. Store-bought solutions for their invasion are not cheap.

However, there is a way out of this situation that allows us to save a bit. We can prepare an effective concoction at home. To make it, we only need a little time, patience, and a few products: food-grade phosphoric acid, water, a syringe for measuring liquid, a small container for the solution, and wires or other small construction elements, such as structural shapes.

Homemade powder to combat snails - recipe

A gardener quoted by Deccoria emphasized that mixing 10 ml of water with 5 ml of food-grade phosphoric acid is enough. It is very important to maintain the order: pour the water into the container, then the acid. Then, the solution needs to be mixed thoroughly. Next, the resulting substance is applied to the wires, structural shapes, or other metal parts. The acidic paste is left overnight.

The next day, wash off the acid residue with boiling water. Now, deal with the coating, which needs to be scraped off the metal using a grinder or, for example, a metal brush. Before starting the final stage, line the container with a protective bag to catch the dust created by grinding. This powder will be an essential component of the homemade snail remedy.

To prepare the mixture, use just 1 gram of dust per 1 litre of spray. Also, remember to always work with protective gloves and goggles to stay safe.
