Helena Bonham Carter dazzles at BAFTA TV Awards with rock star aura

The British actress rarely appears at show-business events. This time, however, she couldn't miss it. The BAFTA TV Awards are the most critical television industry awards in the British Isles. Helena Bonham Carter, as always, showed character.

On Sunday, May 12, at the Royal Festival Hall in London, the British Academy Television Awards ceremony took place at 7 PM GMT. Hannah Waddingham, Brian Cox, Elizabeth Debicki, and Helena Bonham Carter were present at the BAFTA TV gala, among others. The latter certainly caught everyone's attention. It's rare for photojournalists to have a chance to photograph her, and that evening, she presented the award for Best Supporting Actor.

The actress, known from films such as "The Lone Ranger", "Alice in Wonderland", the "Harry Potter" series, and "The Crown" series, exuded the aura of a rock star. Her nonchalance and sunglasses contrasted beautifully with her latest role as Noele Gordon - the queen of British soap opera.

This combination could have been a disaster or a success. Helena Bonham Carter, however, pulled it off. The 56-year-old actress created a contrasting silhouette, combining red sunglasses with an elegant, floral evening gown. The dress nicely highlighted her shoulders and emphasized the waist with a built-in corset.

Helena Bonham Carter is just 1.57 meters (about 5 feet 2 inches) tall. She added some inches with shoes and came to the gala in practical suede platform sandals. The styling was completed with long earrings and rings.

The actress's nonchalance was also added by her hairstyle, styled into loose, blown-out curls. The star's makeup artist deserves praise too – the complexion and rosy cheeks were very skillfully highlighted, adding girlish charm to Bonham Carter.
