Harry and Meghan in Nigeria: Royalty, charity, and a touch of glamour
10 May 2024 17:36
Prince Harry and Dutchess Meghan Markle embarked on their trip to Nigeria today. The couple has already arrived in Abuja, where they met with children at Wuse Lightway Academy early this morning.
Prince Harry's short visit to his homeland has just ended. Although, due to commitments and priorities, the prince did not meet with his relatives, he still was occupied. His visitation was dictated by the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, namely competitions for soldiers and war veterans injured in missions at home and abroad, which were created on his initiative.
For Prince Harry, however, this is not the end of celebrating the solemn jubilee of his idea. Part of the events associated with the Invictus Games is also the 41-year-old's journey to Nigeria with his spouse. According to media reports, Prince Harry and Dutchess Meghan were invited to Africa by the Chief of Defence Staff of Nigeria, General Christopher Musa.
The media have already released the first photos from Prince Harry's and Dutchess Meghan's visit to Nigeria, where they could count on a real royal welcome. The couple met with officials and children at the Wuse Lightway Academy on Friday morning. During the visit to the school supported by their Archewell foundation, the Duke of Sussex spoke with students about mental health, among other topics. According to "DailyMail", Harry referred to personal experiences and the loss of his mother during the conversation.
Dutchess Meghan wore a subdued yet truly royal outfit—the silk dress cost over £370. She opted for expensive accessories—a Cartier gold bracelet for close to £4,800, another bracelet for over £3,700, and a watch for over £11,100.
