Harris leads Trump as polls signal shift in election race

Donald Trump may have reasons for concern. The latest polls concerning the presidential election race are increasingly favourable for Kamala Harris. Before Biden announced his resignation, the situation on the Democratic side looked significantly worse, but now, a new trend is emerging.

Running for presidency after the resignation of President Joe Biden, Kamala Harris is steadily gaining in the polls.

As "Forbes" points out, in the latest Morning Consult poll, Harris leads Trump 47 to 44 percent. This is the second week in a row that the Republican Party candidate lags behind the Democratic candidate.

Polls increasingly favourable for Kamala Harris

In the Ipsos poll for Reuters, it can also be seen that Harris leads 42 to 37 percent, and in the PBS News, NPR, and Marist poll, her lead is 3 percentage points. In a poll published by CBS News on Sunday, Harris also leads by one percentage point.

"Economist," citing an average of the latest polls, indicates a result of 47.8 per cent for the current U.S. Vice President compared to 45 per cent for Donald Trump.

The Morning Consult poll for Bloomberg conducted at the end of July also shows that Harris leads the former president by one percentage point in seven states that could significantly impact the election outcome: Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona, North Carolina, and Georgia.

A favourable trend for Harris can also be seen in a Suffolk University poll published on Tuesday for "USA Today" in Florida. According to the poll, the U.S. Vice President is trailing Trump, but her deficit is 5 percentage points - less than expected.

Florida—the former president's home state—was once one of the most important battleground states, but Republicans have gained significant advantages there in recent years.
