Grilled shrimp may become a real hit this year. The recipe we present in this article makes their preparation easy and enjoyable, and the seafood tastes insanely delicious. Be sure to try it out and surprise your family with a new trend!

Grilling doesn't have to be boring and monotonous. We understand that the first barbecue, celebrating the start of the grilling season, usually showcases classics — the eagerly anticipated sausage and pork neck. However, we suggest that you try light kitchen variations with each subsequent lighting of the charcoal. This way, we can swiftly elevate our meals to a real culinary feast because grilled shrimp, in our opinion, truly are just that.

Why do we think serving these tasty crustaceans will become a hit during the May Day weekend? First, they offer an original and unusual choice for barbecue fare. Second, the love for this seafood has grown immensely, and dishes like pasta, soups, or sushi with shrimp have already become part of the gastronomic mainstream.

Of course, before the crustaceans hit the grill, we must ensure they're perfectly seasoned. Grilled shrimp will pair wonderfully with a strongly aromatic herb marinade enriched with tomato passata and garlic umami. We describe exactly how to prepare it below.

Grilled Shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams of tiger shrimp,
  • 3 cloves of garlic,
  • 80 ml of olive oil,
  • 120 ml of tomato passata,
  • 3 tablespoons of lemon juice,
  • 2 - 3 tablespoons of chopped herbs such as basil, parsley, dill, thyme,
  • 1 teaspoon of salt,
  • a pinch of powdered chilli pepper,
  • a handful of cherry tomatoes.

  1. Peel the headless shrimp. Gently slit them along the backbone and remove the intestines.
  2. Mix the tomato passata, olive oil, lemon juice, herbs, salt, and chili to prepare the marinade. Immerse the shrimp in it and marinate for about half an hour.
  3. Thread the prepared crustaceans onto skewers, alternating with cherry tomatoes. Grill on each side. Remember, grilled shrimp don't need much time over the coals. 3-4 minutes per side should be about right, though it also depends on the temperature of your grill. Enjoy!
