"Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" was already a hit before its premiere in cinemas. Thanks to early screenings, it earned £6 million, the second-best result among all the titles in the Monsterverse – a series of films featuring the titular monsters, which have been produced for a decade by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros.
The film continued to receive great reception later. The low ratings did not deter viewers from critics, who rated the production 54% on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans were much more lenient with the title and rated it 91%. It was only a matter of time before the film hit streaming services.
