Bicycle accidents occur daily on crowded roads. Despite wearing a helmet, the risk of serious injuries in a collision or fall still exists. Therefore, the safety backpack is becoming a more popular accessory for cycling enthusiasts. It offers not only additional protection but also a sense of security during every ride—whether you are navigating through the city or going on a long bike trip. Modern technologies, such as the airbag enclosed in the backpack, could change the future of cyclist safety.

Riding a bike can be safe

Cyclists are exposed to numerous dangers while on the road. Accidents, collisions with vehicles, and falls are daily risks those on two wheels face. Fortunately, technology is advancing in a way that significantly enhances cyclist safety. The safety backpack is an innovative solution that provides additional protection in critical situations. Along with a helmet, this backpack can minimise the risk of serious injuries, particularly to the head and upper body, which are most vulnerable in a fall.

Additional protection, such as the safety backpack, becomes invaluable, especially in cities where cyclists must share space with cars. An accident can happen in a split second, and the consequences can be tragic. A backpack with a built-in airbag gives cyclists greater peace of mind, knowing that in the event of a fall, their body is protected by the helmet and technology designed to reduce injuries.

Minerva-AS AiRRide - a German innovation for two-wheel enthusiasts

The German company Minerva-AS has unveiled a revolutionary solution that could change road safety rules. The AiRRide safety backpack, equipped with an airbag, addresses the growing need for cyclist protection. The main advantage of this innovative product is its lightning-fast action – the airbag activates in just 150 milliseconds when it detects a dangerous situation. It protects the head and upper body, making it an ideal solution in a collision with a car or a sudden fall onto the road.

The uniqueness of AiRRide lies not only in its quick activation time but also in its intelligent sensors, which analyse the cyclist's movement up to 300 times per second. The system monitors body position, speed, and acceleration, allowing for precise detection of the moment when an accident could occur. Thanks to an advanced algorithm, the backpack reacts to changes in an instant, minimising the risk of injuries.

An additional advantage of the AiRRide safety backpack is its light weight – it weighs only 1.2 kilograms (kg), making it comfortable for everyday use. Furthermore, with replaceable components, such as a pump, the airbag can be used multiple times, enhancing the practicality of this solution. The backpack does not replace the helmet but is an excellent complement, providing comprehensive protection during every ride – urban and mountainous.
