Generational fashion wars: The great sock divide between Gen Z and millennials
It turns out that Generation Z (Gen Z) and Generation Y (millennials) can be distinguished by their socks. The younger generation is setting new fashion trends and openly laughing at those who dress differently, pointing out their outdated style. What model of socks are we talking about?

Let us remind you that Generation Y includes people born from 1980 to 1997 or 2000. Meanwhile, Generation Z begins in 1997 or 2000 and ends in 2010 or 2012. These dates may vary depending on the source.
Generation Y and Generation Z – differences in style
It is no secret that each generation has preferences, including clothing-related ones. It turns out that millennials and representatives of Generation Z can often be distinguished at first glance. And the key here is style.
There are plenty of funny videos on this topic online, especially on TikTok. What are the fundamental differences? Millennials love tight skinny jeans, and their shirts or T-shirts must always be tucked into their trousers. Meanwhile, Gen Z exclusively wears trousers with wide legs, including wide-leg models, cargo pants, or jorts, and the top of their outfits always hangs loose.
Your socks say a lot about you
It turns out there is another significant detail that differentiates these two generations. Interestingly, it's about socks, precisely their length. Millennials favour short ankle socks – ideally, they should not be visible from the shoes. Meanwhile, Gen Z considers this the biggest faux pas and always wears long socks up to mid-calf with trainers or sneakers.
The differences in the styles of these two generations are immense, based essentially on opposites. But maybe it's worth ending this generational ostracism and dressing in a way that makes us feel good.
